Well the music studios are about to shoot themselves in the foot...again. This time they've taken note of the success of iTunes and other online music stores. Not content with the revenue currently being generated, the music industry is greedily demanding more and will apparently try to get it by forcing online music stores to raise prices on music.
Amazing, isn't it? The same people that missed the boat on digital audio and file sharing are now going to drive customers away from legitimate online music stores and back to file sharing programs with price increases. It seems that reality still hasn't hit the music industry in the face but it will. If punitive price increases take place, look for sales in online music stores to decline as some customers move to file sharing networks to get their music.
Tsk, tsk. Those who do not learn from history...
